We were treated to stunning red carpet looks at the 2023 Academy Museum Gala. Some of Hollywood’s biggest names were in attendance, including Meryl Streep, America Ferrera and Sandra Oh. Of course, fashionistas Kaia Gerber, Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner also made time to attend the event. But among the glamorous crowd at the gala, we had to keep an eye out for Selena Gomez, sparkling in a floor-length black Valentino gown.
The singer turned heads with her elegant look, which was finished with silver sequined roses along the entire neckline. To complete the outfit, she wore a pair of black opera gloves. However, under the gloves, we’re still wondering what nail design she was hiding for the event since the Rare Beauty founder has stunned us with many manicures in the past.
Her longtime nail artist Tom Bachik (who also works his magic on Jennifer Lopez, Margot Robbie and Hailee Steinfeld) shared photos of Selena’s best nail looks to date, including the whole set of “Golden Glazed Fire” from this year’s MTV VMAs. For the Academy Museum Gala, Bachik revealed that the singer chose a minimal, almost bare look.
Now for polish, Bachik applied Aprés Nail Gel Couleur in Gossamer Light to the star, giving it a high shine and quick dry time. But any nude polish, whether gel or not, is suitable. We want to breathe more life into our nails without applying too many colors.
Recently, the “Single Soon” singer ditched the high-maintenance chrome tones and instead switched to more natural nail designs, such as the “Naked Disco” look and Super shiny polished nails.
