When was the last time the Dallas Mavericks reached the NBA Finals?

2011 was the last time the Dallas Mavericks reached the NBA Final. That was also the season they won the first championship in the club’s history.

Under the guidance of Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd and the best defender that year Tyson Chandler, Dallas created a big shock to lift the prestigious Larry O’Brien trophy.

The Mavs defeated Brandon Roy of the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, before sweeping Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. In the Western Conference Finals, Nowitzki and Kidd’s experience helped Dallas overcome a promising Oklahoma Thunder team. the hopes of Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

How many NBA championships have the Dallas Mavericks won?

The 2010/11 season championship is the only NBA title in the history of the Mavericks. In the final series, Dallas defeated the Miami Heat 4-2.

Dallas has only reached the NBA Final one other time, which was in 2006. However, in that year’s final, the home team at American Airlines Center lost to the Miami Heat with leaders Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O’Neal. As mentioned above, the Mavericks finally paid this debt in the 2011 NBA Final.

History of Mavericks’ NBA Playoff appearances

Since their founding in the 1980/81 season, the Mavericks have reached the Playoff round 25 times in 44 NBA seasons. They have a total of 6 trips to the Western Conference Finals and 2 trips to the NBA Finals.

The longest period of time that the Mavericks did not participate in the Playoff was 10 years, the period 1990-2000. However, since then, they have improved dramatically and have won the right to enter the Playoff in 19/25 of the last 25 seasons.
