Fans present at Goodison Park and those who witnessed the Everton vs Nottingham match all shared the same feeling of fear when witnessing a strong collision that left striker Beto unconscious on the field.
This incident occurred in the match between Everton and Nottingham Forest in round 34 of the Premier League. Specifically, in extra time of the second half, in an attempt to compete for the ball, Everton striker Beto collided very strongly with Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
The impact was so strong that Beto seemed to lose consciousness and fall freely. The referee was forced to pause the match immediately. The medical team immediately entered the field to give first aid to both players.
Gibbs-White then stood up and continued playing, but Beto stayed on the field for a long time. The match therefore had to be interrupted for many minutes.
As confirmed by Everton on Twitter, Beto was unconscious after the collision. Afterwards, the Portuguese striker was taken to the hospital for examination and monitoring.
Because this was a strong, haunting collision, SkySport did not replay the situation on television. According to observations, on the stretcher leaving the field, Beto regained consciousness. He even gave a thumbs up to confirm that he didn’t have too serious a problem.
In this match, Beto was not assigned to start. He was brought onto the field midway through the second half to replace Calvert-Lewin and made a strong impression. In the end, Everton won with a score of 2-0. Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil were the two players who scored to bring 3 points for The Toffees.
This is a very important victory for Everton because after round 34, Sean Dyche and his team pocketed 30 points, widening the gap with the “red light group” to 5 points.
