Rihanna’s latest photos are leaving more than a few people breathless. The singer has brought out her sexy side on the latest cover of Interview.
The singer has dressed up as a nun, albeit with a more sensual touch, something that has not gone down well in some religious circles. Rihanna is sporting bright red lipstick, blue eyeshadow and a black and white habit.
And this pose has a double meaning, since in the interview Rihanna has defined herself as a Christian and mentions God on several occasions.
Firstly, she points out that only through her relationship with God has she been able to deal with fame, as it has helped her to remember what is important in life. She also says that she wants to have children, but that she puts her happiness in God’s hands.
Certain social media users or religious associations have been the main instigators of the criticism aimed at Rihanna.
“I love Rihanna but I never understand why the obsession with sexualising religious depictions”, “Isn’t this blasphemy?”, “Dehumanising and degrading to see Christianity continually mocked” or “these Christian images are used for the wrong purposes” are some of the messages that have made their stance on Rihanna’s cover clear.
Savage X Fenty’s new ‘Signature Script’ collection has featured the artist to launch her new lacy pieces of bras, cheeky knickers, thongs, underwire teddies, slips, tops and sleep shorts. Rihanna presented them all in several images on her personal Instagram account.
The brand also featured Rihanna to present its Valentine’s Day edition under the following slogan: “This is how this bad girl celebrates Valentine’s Day”. On both occasions, the singer received endless positive comments on social media.
