The 2024 summer transfer window is about to open, big teams have started making deals and most recently, Man City’s young midfielder has been confirmed to join Wolves.
Manchester City have announced their first transfer activity ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window.
Specifically, young midfielder Tommy Doyle has completed a permanent transfer to Wolves after impressing on loan this season. Doyle played 30 matches for the home team at Molineux and had praised performances.
It is known that Wolves have bought Doyle outright and according to The Athletic, the team nicknamed the Wolves will pay Man City 4.3 million pounds. The 22-year-old will sign a four-year contract with an option to extend for a further two years.
However, the deal will not be official until July 1 so Doyle is still ineligible to play against boyhood club Man City in their Premier League round 36 tie at the Etihad Stadium. .
The England U21 international will end 14 years with the club. During his time playing for the half-blue Manchester team, Doyle only appeared once in the Premier League for Man City.
Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs said: “Doyle understands who we are as a club and what we are trying to create. He’s a fantastic player to have for what we’re trying to achieve off the field and he gives us a lot on the field, so he’s exactly the type of player I think Wolves should sign the contract.”
“Tommy is only partially complete, as he gets used to the tournament, his understanding will deepen. I’m really excited to see Doyle’s future at Wolves.”
It is known that Man City has included a clause in the contract to receive 50% of the future transfer value, and they also agreed to a buyback option.
