A new report claims that coach Pep Guardiola could leave Man City and a surprise name is being considered to replace the Spanish strategist.
Guardiola has gone through the most successful period in Man City’s history after leading the club since 2016. Since taking over from Manuel Pellegrini, Guardiola has won 5 Premier League titles and 1 Champions League, in addition to 2 FA Cup and 4 League Cups.
Man City’s hopes of defending their Champions League throne ended after they were defeated by Real Madrid on penalties in the quarter-final second leg at the Etihad. But the Green Man can still end the season with a double of Premier League and FA Cup championships. They are currently leading the Premier League rankings and will play the FA Cup Semi-Final against Chelsea this Saturday.
Guardiola is currently under contract with Man City until the end of the 2024/25 season, after signing a two-year extension in 2023. But there are doubts about whether he will sign another extension with Man City. as they await trial on 115 charges of breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
