Luka Doncic continues to lead all guards in the All-Star game fan voting, after the NBA released the second wave of fan returns on Thursday morning.
Doncic, who led after the first fan vote return, still leads the pack and has increased his fan vote total to 2.5 million votes. That’s more than any other guard across both the Western and Eastern Conferences. Tyrese Halliburton leads all guards in the East with 2.19 million votes.
In terms of overall ranking, Doncic is seventh in total fan votes. The Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo leads all vote getters so far with almost 3.5 million votes.
The only other Maverick in the top 10 of either position is still Kyrie Irving, who is currently fifth amongst West guards with 544,290 votes. That’s the same spot Irving was in during the first fan returns, and Irving’s distance between second place has increased from about one million to 1.5 million, so it is unlikely Irving gets to start this year’s game.
Doncic’s backcourt mate is still up for grabs, however, as Warriors guard Steph Curry overtook Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for second place.
