Under the supervision of Lionel Messi, Thiago’s son scored a stunning goal for Inter Miami in the Weston Cup final.
As Lionel Messi prepared for his MLS opener against Inter Miami, on Monday he was on hand to witness a special final. In the Weston Cup youth tournament, one of La Pulga’s three sons, Thiago, played in the U12 age group and scored a beautiful goal.
Video of this goal quickly went viral. The 11-year-old boy received a high pass from the left wing and volleyed the ball into the far corner of the goal, leaving the opponent’s defense and goalkeeper unable to react. Messi celebrated this goal from the stands, where he usually attended with his family, friend and teammate Luis Suarez.
Since Messi started a new life in America after parting ways with PSG, Thiago Messi has been a member of the Inter Miami Academy. The image of the couple’s eldest son Antonela Roccuzzo appeared on the club’s official Instagram account along with all his teammates in the U12 team.

A month earlier, the Daily Mail reported that Messi’s two remaining sons also joined Inter Miami, but so far there has been no sign of Ciro and his brother Mateo wearing club uniforms.
Thiago shares training space with his father at the Florida Blue Training Center, where the Inter Miami first team trains. This U12 team competes in the Florida Academy League, unlike the U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17 teams that compete in MLS Next.
Before leaving Spain, Messi let Thiago participate in one of the categories of the Barca Escola project specifically for children from 6 to 8 years old, looking for training methods similar to those of La Masia.
