This cave is a geological formation called an anticline, which is a fold in rock layers where the oldest layers are at the center, arching upwards. Anticlines form an “A” shape, with the rock layers dipping away from the crest.
Anticlines often pair with synclines, which are downward folds where the layers dip towards the center, creating a trough. Together, these folds showcase the incredible forces that shape our planet’s surface.
