La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus’ lawyers will make a final statement on the legal battle between the two sides on December 21. Accordingly, the Portuguese superstar asked the “Bianconeri” to meet 19.5 million euros in missing salary.
Ronaldo has taken legal action against his former club Juventus, claiming the Serie A representative still owes him nearly 20 million euros from the second “salary transfer” in the 2020/21 season.
On the other hand, the Italian football giant believes that Ronaldo has no right to demand such a high fee because he almost gave up his salary when he decided to move to Manchester United in the summer of 2021.
Also according to Gazzetta, a hearing could take place in January 2024. While the Arbitration Court will make a decision on the Ronaldo – Juventus case in April next year.
Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid in 2018. The 38-year-old scored 101 goals in 134 appearances in all competitions, helping the “Bianconeri” win two Serie A and Supercoppa Italiana titles and one Coppa Italia.
Central defender Leonard Bonucci also sued Juventus over training conditions. The Italian player’s lawyers claim that their client has been harmed professionally and image-wise. Bonucci considered this action “not a personal fight, but a practice with just principles”.
