After a series of international friendly matches, coach Gareth Southgate quickly made the final decision to select 26 out of 33 names in the preliminary list, officially leaving for Germany to attend EURO 2024 .
Jack Grealish and James Maddison were the two earliest players to be dropped from the England squad. Poor performance in the 2023-2024 season, along with lackluster performance in the recent friendly match series, made the two attacking stars of Man City and Tottenham unable to win the trust of the head coach.
Meanwhile, Harry Maguire’s elimination is a relatively unfortunate case. The MU midfielder had an extremely explosive second half of the season, but suffered a calf injury and could not recover in time.
