And Brighton were given a boost ahead of the Premier League clash when manager Roberto De Zerbi confirmed both Danny Welbeck and James Milner had signed new contracts to stay at the club.
Welbeck signed a new two-year contract with the club while Milner, who has been injured for much of the season, was given a one-year extension to try to finish his spell at the top of the season next.
Speaking before the match against Chelsea, the Italian coach said he was happy that the duo decided to stay at Amex. He told reporters: “I’m very happy for James and Danny, because they both deserve contract extensions. This is very good news for us.”
“Both are vital to the club on and off the field and with Adam Lallana leaving, their contribution becomes even more important next season.”
Chelsea will go to Amex to look for 3 points to maintain their hopes of participating in the European tournament next season.
