Kylian Mbappe’s adventure with PSG in the 2023/24 Champions League stopped after the club lost 0-1 to Dortmund in the second leg of the semi-finals (finally lost with a total score of 0-2).
Mbappe scored 8 goals on the European stage this season, but that didn’t mean anything when he was silent in both semi-finals.
In the second leg at Parc des Princes, the French striker made 5 shots, with one of them hitting the crossbar.
Mbappe expressed disappointment: “In decisive matches like this, you have to play effectively but we couldn’t do that.
You must be efficient in every aspect. At this moment, Dortmund is clearly better than us. We are really sad.”
When asked if this was the last Champions League match with PSG, Mbappe answered emphatically: “Definitely this season”.
Mbappe decided not to renew his contract with PSG a few months ago and left for free, accepting the loss of a large loyalty bonus.
No official announcement has been made, but it is likely that Real Madrid will be Mbappe’s next stop, after 7 seasons with PSG.
Mbappe once expressed his ambition to win the Champions League with PSG before leaving but he was unsuccessful.
