Liverpool’s hopes of winning the Premier League were dashed after a 2-2 draw against West Ham, meaning Klopp and his team have only won one of their last five matches.
A slow first half left Liverpool behind when Jarrod Bowen headed home for West Ham from a quick corner. However, The Kop equalized 3 minutes after the break thanks to Andy Robertson.
Liverpool had a much better performance in the second half and deservedly took the lead when Cody Gakpo’s shot hit Alphonse Areola’s foot and bounced into the net. However, another header from Michail Antonio helped West Ham equalize, leaving Liverpool 2 points behind Arsenal and 1 point behind Man City when both will play this weekend.
On Sunday, Arsenal won 3-2 at Tottenham despite leading 3-0 in the first half. This match saw the Gunners score their 16th goal from corner kicks in the Premier League since the beginning of the season. the most in a campaign since West Brom under Tony Pulis in the 2016/17 season (16).
But Man City also immediately put pressure on the back with a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, thereby only 1 point behind Arsenal and playing one match less.
