In the UAE, archaeologists discovered antiquated relics that date back 2,000 years

NEW DELHI:Archaeologistshave made an exciting discovery at theAbraq archaeological sitein the Umm Al Quwain region ofUAE.According to Reuters, three golden coins, estimated to be2,000 yearsold, have been found at this ancient site ofTell Abraq. The sitedating backto 2500 BC, is considered one of the country’s most significant archaeological sites.

Alongside the coins, experts have also also found statues and made other discoveries.Director of the Italian Archaeologist mission, Michele Degli Esposti said, “You know, these coins were circulating in the first century AD. They are imitations of coins minted in theRoman Empirein France – in Leon precisely, under the reign of Emperor Tiberius, between 17 and 31 A.D.”

“And these are very important also because they tell us about the context of the site with the surrounding world,” Esposti told Reuters.“And then we found evidence of domestic dwellings dated to the last century before Christ. And so this is why – I mean, it is really a reference site for the archaeology of the region,” he added.(With inputs from agencies)
